Ever since primary school, video games have been a part of my life and I have owned most Nintendo systems starting with the SNES, incl. N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U and Switch. I also used to play on PC when I was a student, but because I spend too much time on my desk for work, I prefer to play on consoles in my spare time now.

• in English: IGN Nintendo Voice Chat – weekly show on all things Nintendo with some very knowledgable members (though the cast is slightly different each week), available as a video on IGN’s website and Youtube or as an audio podcast
• in German: Gamestar Podcast – multiple episodes each week, sometimes on specific games, sometimes on broader topics or industry trends, thought provoking and with a good sense of humor; some additional content for Plus subscribers

• nintendolife.com – my go-to website for reviews on games published on Nintendo systems; no ad-free version
• Digital Foundry – in-depth analyses of game performance and hardware; especially the video analyses are well produced and insightful; ad-free high-quality downloads for Patreon subscribers
• Ars Technica – focuses on tech more broadly and has only limited coverage of games; ad-free for subscribers

Magazines

• in German: N-Zone – publishes very detailed reviews of games published on Nintendo systems; available in print and on the App Store (Computec Kiosk)
• in German: Gamepro – smaller sister magazine of Gamestar focused on video game consoles; because it covers Xbox, Playstation and Switch, its coverage of any one platform, and Nintendo in particular, is somewhat limited; available in print and on the App Store
