Things I Think About
The following are the main philosophical, social and political issues that I am interested in. The topics covered in the Lexicon of Compassion are inspired by these questions.
Community and Learning
- What is a good life?
- How do we want to live together in society?
- How can we support people and organizations to realize their potential?
- How do people learn and how can we support learning?
- How can we learn from others, and specifically: what can Germany and Europe learn from other countries and cultures?
Politics and Participation
- How can we avoid concentration of power and strengthen the social participation of as many people as possible?
- How can we distribute limited resources fairly and efficiently?
- What should be the role of the state and how can we organize it?
